The omega dynamic chronograph 5240.50 was introduced in the late 1990’s by Omega. The design is inspired by early Omega pilot chronographs and houses the cal 1138. The movement is based on an ETA 2892-A2 and a Dubois-Depraz 2030 chronograph module that was slapped on top of the base movement. This results in the chronograph pushers not being level with the crown. The module is also difficult to repair and in most cases it is swapped out for a new module. The watch itself was not a marketing success and Omega discontinued this model in the early 2000’s. At this time dealers were dumping these watches almost at cost. This is when I purchased this example as a new watch with the box, papers and a metal canister that could double as a pencil holder ;-). Due to lack of wrist time, this watch was sold in 2008.
