Omega seamaster memomatic 166.072
The Memomatic was quite an advanced watch when it came out. It was the first mechanical alarm wristwatch that had a single barrel to power both the cal 980 automatic movement and the alarm mechanism. It also allowed to set the alarm exactly to the minute, due to an alarm setting display comprised of two concentric disks. The inner disc has a double line for the minutes and the outer disc has a triangle for the hour. It also displayed the date, which could be quickset via a pusher positioned between the crowns. The design of the dial and hands in contrasting gray/orange is unique and makes the watch immediately identifiable. The example in the picture above is from 1970. It was purchased from the original owner along with the original owners manual in German.
