Omega www ref #2444
The WWW watches (Wrist Watch Waterproof) were made to the specifications of the MoD during the early 1940’s. The examples with original dials are the most desired and should have the “broad arrow” on the dial, case back (both sides) and ordinance markings (a “Y....” order code and a serial number) on the case back. The movements were the cal 30T2 and hands had a distinctive shape - as depicted in the picture above. According to the Omega only 25,000 of these were made. At the end of WWII some of these were unissued and bought back by Omega. The watch pictured above was purchased with a refinished dial. Since it did not get much wrist time I recently sold it.
