The ref 166.088 is not as familiar as the other members of the Seamster diving watches. It was rated to 200m and housed the cal 1002 movement. This is the same movement that can be found in other notable Seamasters such as the Ploprof 600 (166.077) or the Semaster 200 (166.091). The example above is from the early 1970’s and has a dark blue bezel and dial and a light blue sweep seconds hand. A close look at the dial also shows cracking, or crazing, of the lacquer. Its an interesting effect but, in spite of some seller claims, this was not how this dial left the factory and is unintentional. This watch got very little wrist time and was sold in 2008.
