Omega speedmaster Companion 135.011

This is a fascinating watch, with a dial that is seldom seen.

It houses a manual wind caliber 601 movement and measures 35mm in diameter. The special thing about the watch is the dial. Looking at it immediately reminds me of the Speedmaster Professional dial, without the chronograph sub-registers. This is not a redial and is actually quite rare. The hands are also similar to the Speedmaster Pro hands. The watch case is a ref 135.011, which was a reference number used in part of the “Seamaster 600” and, later, “Geneve” lines.   Although the watch does not officially belong to the Speedmaster line, it was termed a Speedmaster “companion watch” by fellow collector Don who owned three of these. In more than 10 years of collecting, I have only seen 5 examples (Don’s 3, mine and one other).

If you know of additional examples, or have any additional information about these, I would appreciate hearing from you!
