Omega speedmaster MKII 145.014
Omega speedmaster MKII 145.014
As seen in the “Before” images, the watch needed considerable work when I purchased it. After some considerable efforts, the watch is running great and in beautiful condition. There are a few watchmakers I would trust with my watches, so if you are looking for someone good and reliable feel free to e-mail me.
Omega introduced the MkII in 1969 and was the first variant of the Speedmaster Professional line. Like the Moonwatch, it housed a cal 861 movement. The watch came in 2 stainless steel versions. A black/white version as seen in the pictures above and a “Racing” dial version with a gray dial and red/orange markers along the minute track. Some of the subdial hands were also orange. There was also a gold plated version, which is not that common. While the watch shares the exact same features of the Moonwatch, the case is considerably bulkier and heavier. It is speculated that Omega intended that the MkII replace the original Speedmaster that NASA used. But, obviously, this never happened.
